Sports Massage
Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalising those tissues and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body.
Sports massage is a form of massage that uses specific techniques and stretches to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning with less chance of injury or pain. It increases power, endurance, and flexibility both before and after an event or workout.
It can be used in preparation or recovery for a physical event and also for sports injuries, through a series of injury specific massage sessions.
Regular massage will help to relieve muscle tension which can lead to headaches and migraines and restricted mobility.
From an initial consultation I will assess what is the best course of action for you and whether you may need to be referred to an alternative professional.
Massage can be done as a home visit or using local studios.
Sports massage is included in some personal coaching programmes.
